But when one of the criminals tries to kill Doyle, he begins a deadly pursuit that takes him far outside the city limits. Based on a true story, this action-filled thriller, with its renowned chase scene, won five Academy Awards® in 1971, including Best Picture, Best Director (William Friedkin) and Best Actor for Hackman.

This movie was based on true events, the acting is excellent, Gene Hackman, one of the all time greats may not be appreciated by younger audiences. Its gritty, violent, but a cops life is exactly like that at times. One should check out Prince of the City with Treat Williams. Or better yet, the book about the detectives. Robert Daly is the author.

The car following the hijacked train on the "L" is the best ever in film history. Hey Google where is the movie, "The Seven-ups" 2nd best car Chase scene ever! You need to get that ASAP
