Om denne film

Jason Bateman, Joel Edgerton, and Rebecca Hall star in a chilling psychological thriller that asks the question, "Can you really go through life having never wronged anyone?" Simon (Jason Bateman) and Robyn (Rebecca Hall) are a young married couple whose life is going as planned until a chance run-in with Simon's high school acquaintance sends their world into a tailspin. At first Simon doesn't recognize Gordo (Joel Edgerton), but after a series of uninvited encounters and mysterious gifts prove troubling, a horrifying secret from the past is uncovered after more than 20 years. As Robyn learns the unsettling truth about what happened between Simon and Gordo, she starts to contemplate: how well do we really know those closest to us, and are bygones ever really bygones? - ( Original Title - The Gift )

The movie was really good. I can't give it 5 stars because it wasn't 5 star worthy. It was as good as it could be for the message Joel Edgerton was aiming for. Yeah the guy who played Gordon was also the director and producer. But I loved it. I felt for all the three main characters because they were all victims by the end. I just hope people will see how there was no clear bad guy. Sure one had more success in life but his morals were flawed and he took advantage of people. Like a bully.

I was genuinely surprised how this unfolded. As Simon, who talks about how people "never change", Jason Bateman absolutely shows a different side to his comedic persona.

Like somebody already mentioned, it's more of a drama than a mystery. Still a good show, but nothing to rave about.
