À propos de ce film

Forty years ago, Harriet Vanger disappeared from a family gathering on the island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger clan. Her body was never found, yet her beloved uncle is convinced it was murder and that the killer is a member of his own tightly knit but dysfunctional family. He employs disgraced financial journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist) and the tattooed and troubled but resourceful computer hacker Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) to investigate. When the pair link Harriet's disappearance to a number of grotesque murders from almost forty years ago, they begin to unravel a dark and appalling family history. But the Vanger's are a secretive clan, and Blomkvist and Salander are about to find out just how far they are prepared to go to protect themselves.

I saw the American version first, was curious to see this version to look for subtle differences. Instead, this film takes significant liberties with the original source and panders to an audience that wants EVERYTHING to be neatly wrapped up. The American film is not a remake of this film... it is instead a far more faithful interpretation of the original novel and a far superior film. I will not bother seeing the other 2 films in the Swedish trilogy, preferring to wait for the American versions.

@Bugsy.... "Oh, and calling Americans stupid for the making of the English version is just too funny. Its a British film..." The remake has an American Director, an American screenwriter, an American lead actress and was produced and released by an American production company. Calling an American film "British" because James Bond has the male lead is pretty stupid. And this film didn't need to be remade.

This film was beyond brilliant, I've seen all three and was awed with the superb acting, intense story line and rawness of it ALLLLLLL. Foreign films are by far a treat, instead of watching American films with their poor talent crap for a script and screen play. I haven't seen the remake to this and I'm not jumping through hoops either, since usually once Americans has remade films they are GARBAGE!
