Sobre este filme

This brilliant companion piece to the original The Godfather continues the saga of two generations of successive power within the Corleone family. Coppola tells two stories in Part II: the roots and rise of a young Don Vito, played with uncanny ability by Robert De Niro, and the ascension of Michael (Al Pacino) as the new Don. Reassembling many of the talents who helped make The Godfather, Coppola has produced a movie of staggering magnitude and vision, and undeniably the best sequel ever made. Robert De Niro won an Oscar®, the film received six Academy Awards, including Best Picture of 1974.

Sat down to watch this with the wife a week after watching the first film. I thought it was a brilliant film with amazing acting from start to finish. The wife found it harder to follow than the first but to be far she usually watches white chicks,Disney etc. In my top 10 films and lives up to the hype. Films of recent are directed appallingly and it's great to watch a film without over the top explosions and music. 5 star.

There is nothing to say but that this is a godly film, too good for mere human words, transcending above and beyond all levels of comprehension. How can something be so amazing? It is unbelievable. I could go on about how good the acting is from absolutely everyone (not just our holy lords De Niro & Pacino), how deep the story goes, but there's no point. Just watch it and bask in the absolute glory that is Part II. It's not as good as, worse, or better than Part I. They are both joined together in having given humankind the greatest 6 hours or so on earth. Five stars is not enough!

I don't even consider this a movie, more just a piece of pure art, a masterpiece. There is other piece of cinema that creates such emotion for me.
