I wasn't expecting a hero's journey in a classical western setting when I saw the previews for this movie. I didn't know what to expect, quite honestly. But from the moment the film started I knew I was in for something special. I'm the father of three boys and the son of a man who died while I was still a kid so the theme of this movie impacted me more than it would have otherwise. I'm also familiar with archetypal stories and American westerns. This movie is wonderful.

This, and Cars 2 are hands-down Pixar's worst movies. The animation is beautiful as always, but the antagonists throughout the story are hyper cliches and caricatures. This story tries, but is missing the relatable sweetness of better Pixar films. My kids (and me and my wife) were bored by this movie and never wanted to watch it a second time, which is a dead giveaway that something is off.

I give the good dinosaur a 4.9/10 Pros: I love that water animation, I like the designs, some parts are funny, ah drug jokes not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing Cons: honestly this is a weird f**king movie, why is this movie so depressing, at some parts this feels like an illumination movie for some reason and that's not good, this movie is so underwhelming, I was bored so much while watching this movie
