This isn't my favorite Wes Anderson film, but I like it. Luke Rushmore and The Royal Tennenbaums, it is zany, quirky, unique, and filled with twists and turns that hold a viewer's attention. I love the exaggerated stereotypes, the sly humour, and the almost-camp look and feel of the movie. I'm not a big fan of Ralph Feinnes, but I thought he gave a terrific performance in this movie. Abraham, Norton, Dafoe, and Goldblum good picks for this. It is not a gut-busting comedy. It is more subtle and understated.

Let it be kown that 90% of this film is presented in 4:3 aspect ratio. 4:3 is the aspect ratio of old tube TVs, as opposed to 16:9, or widescreen, which has been the standard for many years now. It’s not a technical problem with the production or with my equipment, because very small parts of the movie are in widescreen. As an artistic attempt by the director, 4:3 falls flat. The story itself is funny and entertaining and not without a few surprises. Minus one star for 4:3 as explained above.

Not a fan of this movie. I found it actually quite corny without a single shred of reason for all the fanfare. I thought the actors did as good a job with this movie as possible. It felt like the person who wrote the three stooges wrote this. Labelled as a comedy but falling short of slap stick cheesy scenes. Sorry.. I don't get its popularity..
