I tried to watch this and ended up sleeping through it 3x. No clue what the ending is, havent stayed awake long enough. It moves at a slugs pace. The dialogue is hard to follow as there are so many subtitles flashing by. The fight scenes are CGI busy and dont make any sense. I was expecting something about the Hunn invasion (the reason the walls were first built) but the cat fantasy thing didnt make much sense. I wish they included a back story on the fantasy cats. As is, they come out of no where. I have never rated a movie 1 star but this movie definately is 1 star. Big flop. Too bad.

The problems with this movie are in the story-telling, and have nothing to do with racial appropriation or whitewashing. In fact, it bothers me that I have to defend this mediocre movie in that regard, but are we really going to shut down every story that brings together disparate cultures and characters? That's nonsense. The real problem is that there's no foundation for the two dimensional main character, and therefore when the character pops out of nowhere with god-like skills to save the day, of course it doesn't seem right. But that failure is going to throw off the story not matter what the cultures.

So bad, half the time matt Damon had this weird cowboy accent then the other half seemed like he forgot his character had an accent. The plot felt rushed and all the actors where on auto-pilot. The special effects started out good but by the end of the movie it seemed like they ran out of money. Very disappointed, I usually like Matt Damon movies but this one is definitely a turd.
