Academy Award winner Tom Hanks stars in this moving fable based on a Stephen King novel about Death Row guards at a penitentiary in the 1930s who have a moral dilemma with their jobs when they discover one of their prisoners, a convicted murderer, has mystical healing powers. Beautifully directed by Frank Darabont, this haunting tale features an impressive supporting cast that includes Sam Rockwell, Bonnie Hunt, Patricia Clarkson and Michael Clark Duncan.

I really enjoyed this film but the prologue and epilogue were unnecessary and far too long. Excellent acting all round and a good story with well developed characters.

Beautiful movie. It has everything. It's also one of the best film adaptations of a Stephen King novel. The connection King forges between his stories/characters and his readers is difficult to transfer to the screen - but The Green Mile succeeds amazingly well. One of my all time favourites.

Love this movie you feel so many emotions from horror to happiness and everything else in between you can feel the tension when John Coffey performs the miracles he performs also you feel your anger boiling up when Percy screws up the execution you know that he only there because he had someone pull strings for him I would watch this movie over and over again and would totally recommend that you watch it excellent acting by the cast it truly is amazing what they done to bring the book to life
