I've never read the book, but this movie is a reminder of how movies should be made. Something happened after the writers strike and I haven't seen many movies of this calibre since. I could rave about great performances and fantastic cinematography because it's all there. But for me I rated it 5 stars because it was an emotional journey which left me smiling and happy to have spent the money to buy the film. As a quick aside I can't figure how Lily James blushes on demand. She and leading man Michiel Huisman are incredibly believable in every way.

A good movie with good performances from all the cast. Do yourself a favour and read the book. It's the icing on the cake. Both sweet.
