Emily has been employed as a night carer for Mr Cunningham. Once a pillar of the local community, he has dementia and has suffered a stroke and is now all alone in the rambling, run-down house. He rarely wakes so it should be simple – turn him twice in the night to stop fluid building up on his lungs and that's it. But Emma soon begins to worry that the creaks and groans that echo through the house have a more sinister root than ancient plumbing and the whistling wind. As the long winter night draws on, her suspicions are confirmed and she finds herself terrorized by a vengeful spirit.
