Best movie I have ever watched in this genre. Ideal casting, lighting effects, and directing. Filmed in black and white that seems to make it more effective. The shadows and angles magnify the effects of the best scenes. Warning, this movie is not like some of the B horror movies, this one will make you believe it is real. This one is definitely not for the faint of heart.

Der erste Horrorfilm seiner Art, der sehr viel Gewicht auf Kameraführung und Geräusche, Gedankenmonolog und Mimik, Bühne und Beleuchtung - jedoch weniger Gewicht auf Effekte legt. Wahrscheinlich lässt sich das Hauptgenre als Horror bezeichnen, dessen Subkategorie als Grusel mit dem Hauptmerkmal Suspense (Ungewissheit). Die suspense-lastige Machart des Films hat bis heute Einfluss auf diverse Filme und ist in meinen Augen ein Meisterstück moderner Filmkunst. Zu Schade, daß es noch nicht die Möglichkeit gibt den Film zu sehen.

This is the BEST of horror classics!! I watched this as a kid with my sisters & to this day it still freaks me out!!!
