The world's most lethal odd couple - bodyguard Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds) and hitman Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson) - are back on another life-threatening mission. Still unlicensed and under scrutiny, Bryce is forced into action by Darius's even more volatile wife, the infamous international con artist Sonia Kincaid (Salma Hayek). As Bryce is driven over the edge by his two most dangerous protectees, the trio get in over their heads in a global plot and soon find that they are all that stand between Europe and a vengeful and powerful madman (Antonio Banderas). Joining in the fun and deadly mayhem is Morgan Freeman as...well, you'll have to see.

The first movie was really good because it combined some tight action sequences with Reynolds' comic delivery. This one misses on both fronts and ends up trying way too hard. Some of the fight scenes are pretty good but some are so bad they're laughable. Am-dram laughable at that. When Salma Hayek is the biggest hit in a film featuring Reynolds, Jackson and Freeman then somebody has messed up somewhere. Make no mistake, this is a bad, bad film. Avoid it at all costs.

It is OK movie, but not one of these "yeah I want to see it again". Unfortunately for me second movie did not live up to expectations of first. Story is rather messy/unclear. Nothing against Salma Hayek, but in this movie she was pushed/let little too far with the character. Perhaps not my kind of humour

As much as I like Ryan Reynolds, this film pretty much relies on the comedic partnership of him and Samuel L Jackson to carry the film as the gags set by the plot are either dry rehashes of the last film, or new gags that fall flat on delivery. The finale feels rushed, so whilst the story's conclusion is generally satisfying it feels like it gets there quicker than it should have, perhaps because the finale takes place in 3 different stages. The inclusion of Morgan Freeman and his involvement feels utterly contrived in a way that doesn't really sell the plot any better and as much of a legend as he is the film would have been just as coherent without his inclusion. There seems to be elements of rushed cinematography and strange colour masking on elements throughout the film, suggesting a poorly done relighting of sets that feels really off. The overall plot of the film was odd and somewhat implausible, more so than that of the first film. It also felt bad taste co-opting a very real financial and geopolitical catastrophe that only happened a few years back whilst failing to actually duly acknowledge the impact of it in the film. Ultimately, it was fun, but should have done better. SLJ and Ryan Reynolds' continued camaraderie mostly carries the film that would have fallen completely flat without it. I'm not sure the original film was crying out for a sequel to begin with.
