Despre acest film

Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson returns to Middle-earth with the final of three films based on J.R.R. Tolkien's enduring masterpiece. Set in Middle-earth 60 years before the epic Lord of the Rings trilogy, the adventure follows the journey of Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of dwarves on a journey into wild, treacherous lands swarming with beasts of every ilk. After reaching Erebor and encountering the dragon Smaug, Five Armies assemble for an epic battle that could decide the future of all in Middle-earth.

Despite my ongoing belief and/or delusion that Martin Freeman is great casting for Bilbo, this film has nothing else to recommend it beyond the CG, and even then, that CG includes a troll using a hat-cum-battering ram to breach a wall. In other words, the film simply can't decide whether it's a kids film or an adult film. The result is 2 hours that is too frivolous for anyone serious about film or the subject matter (including anyone who read the book), and too violent for young children. This is a film only to be watched for the purpose of ridicule, and washed down with copious alcohol. Needless to say, if I had that alcohol, I wouldn't be writing this having just watched the film. Don't make the same mistake.

This film, unlike so many others, is actually good. It was enough like the book for me to agree with it, and different enough for me to be surprised. I have read the entire series more than once, and I think the casting was accurate. The only problem is, it was stretched out into 3 films! I have no problem with seven-hour movie marathons, but it appears my family does.

Aaaaaargh Peter Jackson! Why are you so determined to destroy years of great memories with this ....... monstrosity. Love the book love the author HATE the film. The best review of this is by Honest trailers or Cinema Sins. LOL. Also, what's with the eagles ex machina, I know they appear three times in the books, but 5 is too much (for all of middle earth, not the hobbits)
