About this movie

Academy Award® winner Peter Jackson continues his Middle-Earth saga that follows the adventures of Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) who's swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. In the company of thirteen dwarves and the wizard Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen), Bilbo enters the Lonely Mountain in possession of Gollum's "precious" ring and his keen blade, Sting. With an all-star cast, including many acclaimed actors from The Lord of the Rings (such as Cate Blanchett, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, Elijah Wood, Andy Serkis and more), and the effects wizardry of Jackson's award-winning Weta Workshop, Tolkien's epic story comes to life as never before imagined. The Extended Edition film is 25 minutes longer with new and extended scenes, not seen in the theatrical release.

I cannot get back into the Movie that I spent about $16/17 to OWN! And now I have NO WAY BACK into the video/Movie! I am as disapointed as anyone else who would would be who would like to watch this particular Movie, as I am/have asked for, no matter how long it has been since I've actually Spent what little $ that I do have, being that I have little amount to spend on my own enjoyment, & feel guilty even asking for help in this simple request. How can I get access to my previous Video Purchases, PLEASE!

It's impressive that the story could get worse. Not only are more elements abandoned, but unlike the LotR it wasn't done for a more tightly woven story it was done to substitute horribly contrived tie ins to the LotR. Bloated and a massive disservice to the actors and crew who worked on it.

Loses direction. The stretched out story takes more away from great visuals and fair acting. CGI overload completely overshadows beautiful costumes and fine makeup work. Moving to another trilogy where I prefer to stop with the originals.
