In the tradition of Amblin classics where fantastical events occur in the most unexpected places, Jack Black and two-time Academy AwardŽ winner Cate Blanchett star in The House with a Clock in Its Walls. The magical adventure tells the spine-tingling tale of 10-year-old Lewis (Owen Vaccaro), who goes to live with his uncle in a creaky old house with a mysterious tick-tocking heart. But his new town's sleepy façade jolts to life with a secret world of warlocks and witches. Based on the beloved children's classic book.
The personal stories of the characters were nicely weaved into the main story, winged lion topiary was fun to watch whenever it was permitted. The stained glass window expressing house sentiments or coming doom cinch the world of the movie. The demon reference I didn't like at all in a kid movie, surprised Amblin let it roll. I haven't read the book where this movie was based on so Idk if it was mentioned. Jack Black and Cate Blanchett were good picks to inhabit the characters.
