A mockery to the sub-genre. The most frightening thing about this film is that there's a whole 90 minutes of it. I'm sure tweens love this shit, but for me, it lacked the most vital elements of a good werewolf movie. First and foremost, there is no buildup; no "what sort of monster could have done this?" moments. Second, the teen angle just bugged the shit out of me. I think it was supposed to be something like a coming-of-age tale, but the narrative was just broody. Ginger Snaps is a much much much better illustration of the pubescent confusion/hurt/anger/change that this atrocity seems to be poking at. Third, there's virtually no gore. No decent gore, at least. Refer to Steven Kings Silver Bullet for some good werewolf gore. Lastly, the transformation scene. There isn't one. A good transformation scene should reflect the struggle of keeping your demons at bay. You know, trying your damnedest to do the right thing but being overwhelmed by the evil that lurks inside every one of us. Wanna see a good transformation? Rent An American Werewolf in London.

Just in case nobody knows! This is NOT A REMAKE!! I kept up on this film since they announced it back in 2009. I enjoyed the storyline! For once we got a Howling film with a decent plot and decent acting!! I've been a Howling fan since I saw the first one back in 1985.. And it terrified me!! I've seen every howling film and by far this is the best of them (besides the original) And the werewolves actually looked like werewolves! I own this one and watch it all the time!! Enjoy!!
