This movie fell extremely flat in my opinion. I'm a fan of the books and films but this one just doesn't do it for me. Nothing major happens and it is very obvious that it's just a placeholder film for the final Part 2 where the real action takes place. I know this is Katniss's story but they didn't show enough screen time with the other characters. Every other shot was right up in Katniss's face where we see her either crying, freaking out, or yelling. I love the series to death but this one was a bore...

This is no longer a young adult series, Mockingjay Pt. 1 encompasses the reality of a civil war, showcasing the horrors of PTSD, and the power propaganda has to turn the tide one way or another. We went from the first two movies focusing on 24 people fighting in an arena to a whole country uprising against their capital -- if someone says this movie isn't 'action packed' enough is simply not understanding the depth of what is being portrayed.

This movie just pours it on with the drama. I was rolling my eyes and just about laughing during the whole movie. It's infuriating when the character you should be rooting for makes hilariously stupid choices and is way too emotionally charged, which results in the plot moving at a snails pace. (not being sexist here, guys in the movie were the same way.) My favorite part of the movie is when Katniss gets called out on her crap by the first guy she was "dating." One of the few scenes that was worth it.
