Amazing simply because it's actually as it happened. Naomi Watts is as believable as ever, and Tom Holland of Billy Elliot fame was fantastic. It's a shame Ewan McGregor was cast in such a sensitive role as in my view he couldn't act to save his life. Tom, Samuel Joslin and Oaklee Pendergast are far more believable in their roles than the wooden Mr Mcgregor. I think it would have been fitting to dedicate the movie to all those who lost their lives in this disaster.

Great movie. The experiences are realistic and well presented, fighting to survive in and under water, getting to safe ground, helping others, the situation at the hospital of Takua Pa, the kindness of the locals, the efforts of individuals to save lives, even if that meant putting their own life at risk. I am not convinced this is a real story in its entirety but this is a movie worth watching, to get a glimpse of how surviving this tsunami at Khao Lak, Thailand, was like.

Oh my goodness - a fantastic film. I have watched it dozens of times (no exaggeration) and have rarely watched the whole thing without crying! Tom Holland is incredible. The scene when he reunites with his brothers is so great. He plays it so perfectly. He added things in that he wasn't told to do, but the action was so real to him that he just responded (the scene where he hugs a Swedish boy). The injuries look so real too. I watched the making of the film too and saw the amount of effort put in with the tsunami water. The effects are brilliant.Watch it - but watch it more than once as films are always better the 2nd time around. You miss so much the 1st time round that suddenly make sense and add to the experience.
