One of the best science-fiction films of the '50s, The Incredible Shrinking Man is a gripping and thought-provoking classic. His physical size begins to diminish as he shrinks to a mere two inches. Suddenly ordinary household situations loom over him with lethal intensity: a playful cat becomes a demon and a spider a gargantuan monster. Carey finds he must rely on his wits to survive in his new oversized world in this fascinating film based on Richard Matheson's riveting screenplay.

An unforgettable classic which greatly entertains and also reminds us all how small we can feel sometimes, but that in the end that feeling doesn't really matter in the complexity of life's balance. Lily Tomlin starred in a comedic 'remake' of sorts, and though always funny, or even slapstick, it never mocks its potent source material.

I saw this as a kid. The spider scene scared me to death! I always thought it would be neat to be small enough to fit into my doll house. I changed my mind after seeing this!!!
