In a world where people speak the truth and have no concept of deception, a young man about to lose everything invents the "lie" and goes on to change not just the nature of movie-making, but creates the basis of religion. After much effort, he also gets the girl he loves.
Terrible movie. It's stupid from the outset because it's a 2005-era atheist emotional plot that really thinks it's clever. It isn't. I saw this a decade ago and on rewatch, all I remember is being so let down that "must tell the truth" means blabbing whatever is on your mind. Gee, there's a reason most people don't remember this movie. It's a bad rewrite of the great, comedic, "Liar Liar", only it's now acting snooty because it was written after a bottle of Scotch and a Richard Dawkins book
It's a very forgettable movie. I watched it awhile ago, thought it was ok then. I watched it today, because i literally forgot i watched it before. 15 minutes into the movie i was like "awe man, I've seen this already". I watched it again anyway because i forgot what happened. Mediocre movie with mediocre celebrities.
