Nelly (Felicity Jones) is haunted by her past. Always fascinating to see Charles Dickens portrayed on film and his relationship to Nelly was genuine but so fraught with risk that the tension must have been extreme. They would have both been ruined if they had been discovered. She married after Dickens died and never told her husband or children about the affair. Her son discovered it in her writings after her death. Fascinating!
