Michael Caine stars as an investigative writer for a news magazine who doggedly tracks down one of the most baffling mysteries of modern times, the disappearance of pleasure craft and passengers from one area of the Caribbean. It is in this area of the sea that descendants of seventeenth-century buccaneers, trapped in a time warp, persist in their marauding ways. Caine is captured by these pirates who need his services to help improve their degenerated gene pool. Caine's twelve-year-old son is converted to the pirates' heathen ways and turns against his father in this super thriller from the author of "Jaws" and "The Deep".

:( how dare they call PIRATES SAVAGES if anything it's the queens British Royal Navy in Port Royal their mattos even if you wish for freedom prepare for war :( BURN IN HELL BRITISH ROYAL NAVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You deserve to die "You may take are lives but you will never take are freedom"-Brave Heart.

Only Movie to give working scenario for 14th century Pirate Culture to Exist in 2021. They lived and died by the Original Pirate Book of Law.

Loved this movie as a kid!! Bought the blu ray/DVD combo off of Amazon
