À propos de ce film

When Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) and his mother (Taraji P. Henson) move from Detroit to China, Dre feels lost in a world very different from what he knows. Bullied and beaten up by some fellow students in his school, Dre is rescued by his apartment building's handyman, Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), a man who is mourning a devastating loss. Mr. Han takes pity on Dre and agrees to teach him kung fu to defend himself. Training together, teacher and student learn to trust each other, and ultimately form a friendship that heals them both. © 2010 Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

If you were expecting an updated retelling of the classic original, this is not it. It's set in China and is not even about Karate at all, it's all about Kung Fu so the title is baffling. It lacks any of the charm of the original. Frankly it's quite dull in places and I really just wanted it to end. Jackie Chan was good with what he had to work with (not much) but Jaden Smith was pretty poor to be honest. If they gave me this film for nothing I still wouldn't watch it again.

Rubbish! The only thing that wasn't disturbing was Jackie, but even his acting skills were moderately convincing at best. The young lad only has his dad to thank because having a famous padre is the only way of getting on the big screen when your acting skills are flat to the floor.
