It tells the true story of an Englishwoman, Anna Leonowens (Deborah Kerr), who comes to Siam as schoolteacher to the royal court in the 1860's. It would be quite helpful if the English or French subtitles included the songs, it's a musical!!!

An English teacher goes to Siam to teach the King's children English and a delightful clash of cultures ensues.

I loved this movie and read the book. What a great movie this is. I have also brought the DVD and have watched it again. I will rewatch it again soon.
