After the death of his father King George V (Michael Gambon of HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE) and the scandalous abdication of King Edward VIII (Guy Pearce of MOMENTO), Bertie (Academy-Award®-nominee Colin Firth) who has suffered from a debilitating speech impediment all his life, is suddenly crowned King George VI of England. Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush are simply stunning in this movie. I never new the true struggles, the true courge and the true bravery behind King George the IV's rise to power. This movie is not at all boring, actully amusing at times! Check it out.

Incredible acting by some of the best actors ever. Buy this movie because you will watch it again and again. Please movie-makers, make more movies like this one.

By far the best movie. I had heard the man that wrote it took to the the Queen mother if he could make it. She replied after I am gone. She had told him it was still very painful. So he put it away tell she past away to make the movie.
