*Warning to parents - partial (long hair covering) nudity, a swear word (dam) is used twice, some characters die (not bloody/gory), and magic used throughout film. While the 'The Last Unicorn' has a decent cult following (likely due to nostalgia); if you're approaching this film for the first time as an adult you're in for a unpolished mess of a film. The animation is choppy (cost cutting cheap), the voice acting is awful, and the story is stilted and weird. Before renting, check YouTube.

Every time I try to look up a movie or an actor, I get a listing of unicorn movies. I do not like The last Unicorn. I thought it was boring and I hated the ending. I would never seek this movie out. Today I wanted to look up 'Deep Impact', instead I was directed to this page.

(I've enjoyed this movie for as long as I can remember, so I might have my "rose-tinted glasses" on.) I recently got a DVD w/ better visual quality than my old 1, & the vibrant art can REALLY be appreciated there. The acting's really well done & immersive. My main complaints are that the story can be hard to follow at times w/ its awkward pacing. A couple of characters seem to act "out of character," likely because of that. Granted, I've not read its book but shouldn't need to to understand it.
