Internationally famous oceanographer Steve Zissou (Bill Murray) and his crew -- Team Zissou -- set sail on an expedition to hunt down the mysterious, elusive, possibly nonexistent Jaguar Shark that killed Zissou's partner during the documentary filming of their latest adventure. They are joined on their voyage by a young airline co-pilot, who may or may not be Zissou's son (Owen Wilson), a beautiful journalist (Cate Blanchett) assigned to write a profile of Zissou, and his estranged wife and co-producer, Eleanor (Anjelica Huston). They face overwhelming complications including pirates, kidnapping, and bankruptcy.

Purpose of this movie is to take a chance and roll the dice. Also, the movie is the perfect revenge movie done right. Bill Murray's commanding performance creates a gravity well of fantastic moments with each character differently. Wes' humour shines the greater in this movie in parts we know and unseen moments that catch people off guard. Overall its surface is a bit rocky but the pacing of this film is bar none the best Wes Anderson has given up to this point. A perfect mixture of the soundtrack plays with Sue Gorge guitar playing. Great film.

I'm a huge Wes Anderson fan, but to me, this is not his best or my favorite. I'm also a huge Bill Murray fan and he is awesome in this. I just find this film lacking some of the WA style drama and humor like his other films. Parts were rather boring and drug on, But I still love this guy's work. There is no one like him.

I should have paid more attention to the mention of The Royal Tenenbaums, when I really just needed a light-weight and light- hearted comedy. If you are looking for an esoteric humorous movie, this is probably a great choice. If you have had one hell of a long day, however, and just need some cheap, easy laughs AVOID THIS MOVIE.
