Disney's The Lion King, directed by Jon Favreau, journeys to the African savanna, where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival. Scar, Mufasa's brother-and former heir to the throne-has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba's exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his. The all-star cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Billy Eichner as Timon. Disney's The Lion King utilizes pioneering filmmaking techniques to bring treasured characters to life in a whole new way.

This movie was phenomenal I dont think its fare to compare to the previous versions that were excellent for their time. Times change Had children seen the originals Today in comparison to what has just been viewed and rated, this last The Lion King would be by far The Best Childrens view from 6 yrs to perhaps 18 yrs also adults who did see all versions which were great, but for exceptional viewing to watch with your grandchildren pre- teen this is the show to be seen this is the go to movie!

The Lion King was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I SO so badly wanted to enjoy this one but about a 1/4 of the way in, it was just so dry and boring that I couldn't even keep watching it. I love JEJ, but honestly they could have used his audio from the original and it would have made the performance better. The movie was so disappointingly flat :( glad I didn't see it in theaters and waste money (yay Disney+)

Watching the new Lion King remake is like watching nat geo wild if the animals could sing. There is nothing special about this movie. Casting Beyoncé for Nala was a poor choice, in my opinion. Her voice just doesn't fit with Nala's character. They made Scar way less intimidating than he should have been, which was just a dissapointment. And this was supposed to be a "live action" version but everything is CGI. It doesn't make sense. Overall, this movie is trash.
