In the summer of 1948, Dr. Faraday travels to attend to a patient at Hundreds Hall, home to the Ayres family for more than two centuries. The Hall is now in decline and its inhabitants are haunted by something more ominous than a dying way of life. This movie wants to be so much more. A romance, scope to discuss mental illness, a horror movie late life coming of age... idk. Nothing worth watching to be scared. Acting was okay, in that I completely felt awkward im the awkward parts.

The storyline? I was wondering what I missed when the credits rolled. The actors seemed well enough. The mystery. Was left holding the bag at the end and it feels like a waste now. I would love to hear someone tell me I should read the book so I would get it. However, that seems to be the hook.

Quiet. It slowly creeps up on the viewer. The muted color scheme, hazy scenes and awkward social encounters maintain a consistent uneasiness that lasts throughout the film.
