Devoted to their devastated mother, siblings Aidan and Mia resent Grace, the younger woman their newly separated father plans to marry. They flatly reject Grace’s attempts to bond, and they dig up dirt on her tragic past—but soon they find themselves trapped with her, snowed in in a remote holiday village after their dad heads back to the city for work. Just as relations begin to thaw, strange and frightening events threaten to unearth psychological demons from Grace’s strictly religious childhood.

I really liked this! I was suprised to see this panned by horror fans. This is not "Hereditary Lite", like some reviewers suggest, it's alternate universe true crime story about trauma and duty. This is horror that could happen. The film makers deserve credit for creating something this scary without relying on mythical demons, ghosts or monsters and overdone good vs. evil characters.

A slow burning thriller in the same vain as The Shining but without the supernatural horror. Unfortunately a lot of the story potential is wasted and by the end left me feeling unsatisfied. Worth a watch but mostly forgettable.

Spoiler review! Wow. The dad in this movie is hilarious 😂. Has kids with one crazy woman and then leaves her for an even crazier one that's hooked on pills and get this! He even leaves his kids (who by the way are smart enough to convince a grown woman that she is dead) in a snowed in lodge miles from civilization and gives his new squeeze a gun and is like "Take care of the kids honey BYYEE" and then drives off. BEST DAD EVER!!! Honestly he's the true villain of the film not the kids 😂😂😂
