About this movie

What's forgotten is not always gone. Geena Davis stars with Samuel L. Jackson as a typical mother and schoolteacher with a past that's anything but typical -- only she can't remember it and it could come back to kill her in The Long Kiss Goodnight. Eight years ago, Samantha Caine lost her memory, and since then she has slowly built a new life, even though disturbing flashes of memory and strange, seemingly innate skills haunt her. When a car accident and a news story start to trigger her memory, she hires detective Mitch Henessy to investigate. But others are watching, and she has only been safe as long as she can't remember.

Two great actors at their best. They seem to trust each enough to play off of each other beautifully. Each one has the spotlight for awhile and then hands it off to the other for awhile in a beautifully handled move. And to compliment such great heroes you need an equally evil villian-and you've got one. Craig Bierko as Timothy is frightening in his sociopathy. You just feel glad when he's gone. I give this 5 stars only because you don't have six or seven.

This movie was definitely before its time. Charlie Baltimore pretty much started the era of leading ladies in the role of an action hero. She did a marvelous job pulling off the humor, fighting scenes and her character was also extremely intelligent. Kudos Geena for setting the trend and high standards!

If you enjoy watching such movies as Lethal Weapon 1 or Die hard 1 during the holidays in order not to be driven crazy by normal holiday movie's, you have to add this one to your list.
