Aspiring journalist Filipe Leite sets out on an epic quest, riding from Calgary to his family's home in Brazil - and later beyond - entirely on horseback. Culled from over 500 hours of never-before-seen footage and inspired by Aimé Tschiffely's 1925 equestrian journey, Filipe's 8-year odyssey covers over 25,000 km across 12 international borders. Leaving his adoptive home of Canada sends the young immigrant into unknown territory, battling intense heat, drought, speeding transport trucks, corrupt border guards, and nature's wrath on his history-making long ride home.
