So first I had to clear room on my tablet just to download the movie, it doesn't download to your SD card where you have plenty of room, then every time I try to play it the player opens and the little wheel turns for a few seconds, then it freezes up. What a waste of time, granted this is my first movie download and I may not be doing something right, but I will probably not try downloading another movie again, and especially not buying one that's for sure. Bummer.

I've always loved the atmosphere of this movie, especially the way the music and the mood interact. It really makes me want to read the books (all the Tolkein books). I watched it more recently and realized that there are a lot of interesting things to pick apart in the film, especially relating to "given" things in the plot. I don't' know. I like to analyze movies more. Bottom line is, would recommend.

I'm probably the only person in my circle of friends who dislikes this movie. Despite all the hoopla around Peter Jackson's masterful retelling of Tolkien's classic, he utterly failed to capture the central theme. This is the story of unlikely heroes: a people who are unaccustomed to hardship and ignorant of the world at large. It chronicles their evolution as they accept the lot dealt to them and dig deep within themselves to discover a strength they didn't know they had. The movies fail to convey this.
