Acerca desta película

Elaine, a beautiful young witch, is determined to find a man to love her. In her gothic Victorian apartment she makes spells and potions. She then picks up men and seduces them, but her spells work too well, leaving her with a string of hapless victims. When she finally meets the man of her dreams, her desperation to be loved drives her to the brink of insanity and murder. With a visual style that pays tribute to Technicolor thrillers of the 1960s, The Love Witch explores female fantasy and the repercussions of pathological narcissism.

Truly dreadful! Although I did love the retro feel, costumes, hair, makeup and set. Acting and writing left a lot to be desired. I can see what Ann Biller was attempting to achieve with this movie and frustratingly it had potential but lacked follow through for me personally. Orson Welles she is not, but I commend the effort.

Director Anna Biller has here made a whip crack smart horror film that will make most men uncomfortable as Love Witch Elaine, wonderfully played by Samantha Robinson, shatters the illusions of male fantasy. The Love Witch (2017) is unlike any other modern horror film as it's director Anna Biller, has literally embroidered and fashioned ( she sowed and created each and every costume and prop used in the movie) a love letter to the sumptuously glamorous movies made in the 1960s. If not for the onscreen trappings of modern cars and technology, then The Love Witch (2017) would seem as if it belonged alongside other films made in the late 1960s era, such as Luis Bunuel' s masterpiece Belle de Jour, which was a huge creative influence for the film's creator.

I hate the whole thing! It looks very 70s style and not scary at all!
