It changed the way our brains work, replacing a spoken culture with a written one. It is the machine that made us who we are today. Viewers will travel with Stephen on a journey to explore the story of the machine, and of the man who created it: Johann Gutenberg. The journey will be shaped by the search for answers to two central questions: how did Gutenberg do it, and why?

Yet another great presentation by none other than Stephen Fry! I love his work. Every topic he decides to delve into is made all the better by his wit, humor and charm. I definitely recommend this television documentary! It gives you a great understanding of why we have come so far. Without knowledge being able to be wide spread we just wouldn't be where we are today.
