Director Antoine Fuqua brings his modern vision to a classic story in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures’ and Columbia Pictures’ The Magnificent Seven. With the town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard), the desperate townspeople, led by Emma Cullen (Haley Bennett), employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns – Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington), Josh Farraday (Chris Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke), Jack Horne (Vincent D’Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Byung-Hun Lee), Vasquez (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Martin Sensmeier). As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.

Hardly to believe, a tad was better than the original. The story differs very little from the original and even in unimportant scenes. The only criticism is here perhaps James Horner from which I would have expected more here. Many of the settings would have been more brilliant with the right sound. Bernstein had been nominated for the catchy title song with the Oskar. Otherwise, it was a top performance. Washington could once again play himself :-). ********** Kaum zu glauben, war ein Tick besser als das Original. Die Story weicht nur sehr wenig vom Original ab und auch nur bei unwichtigen Szenen. Einzige Kritik gilt hier vielleicht James Horner von dem ich gerade hier mehr erwartet hätte. Viele der Einstellungen wären noch genialer gewesen mit dem richtigen Sound. Bernstein war damals für den eingängigen Titelsong mit dem Oskar nominiert worden, daraus hätte man heute noch viel mehr rausholen können. Ansonsten war es eine Topleistung. Washington konnte mal wieder sich selbst spielen :-).

Better go download it from tpb than giving 14 euros just for a movie, even at the cinemas the price is lower.Plus the movie isnt translated in the language that someone needed to have.

It is a very nice movie,it is my favorite among any western ones i watched,yeah i know it was just a remake but it is perfect,you know,the settings,music,weather,everything is on place,not just action,but there is comedy,drama and the best of all is the lesson it gives,thanks Columbia Pictures for creating this movie,and,make more!
