I first saw this movie when I was a 5 year old boy in 1984...the thrill it gave me then hasn't diminished in 30 years. This movie isn't just about horses or about coming-of-age, it includes almost everything one might look for to satisfy the desire for purpose, love, and conviction. It reminds us that there are ideals worth working, living, and dying for and hopefully will stir up the passion necessary for you to go after your own. But finally it is also a movie about horses and horsemen...and will make you long to get to know the most fascinating animal God ever blew breath into.

I can barely find words to describe how much I love this movie. The settings are perfect, the actors/actresses are perfect, and I can't stop listening to the music! Its one of the best movies I've ever watched!

I've seen this movie over and over, loved it as when i first saw it. Would like to know if Tom did his own riding, especially going down the mtn. after hors es.
