About this movie

Set against the backdrop of the early 1960s,at the height of the Cold War,THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. centers on CIA agent Solo (Man of Steel's Henry Cavill) and KGB agent Kuryakin (The Social Network's Armie Hammer). Forced to put aside longstanding hostilities, the two team up on a joint mission to stop a mysterious international criminal organization, which is bent on destabilizing the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology. The duo's only lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist, who is the key to infiltrating the criminal organization, and they must race against time to find him and prevent a worldwide catastrophe.

Nicely made, and has all the requisite action and adventure components for a good movie. It just seems to miss a little something that would have added that extra excitement. Maybe the two guys were just always so competent that you know everything will work out fine. Anyway, I rented the HD version but found colour banding on mostly uniformly coloured backgrounds. This was most obvious in the credit scene where text was scrolling across a black background. I've got a reasonably fast connection and haven't come across this on Netflix so I'm quite disappointed with the picture quality.

Great sound track, classic Ritchie direction. a few Naf pivotal hero lines... but none the less a truly entertaining movie for the Genre.

Great entertainment. It was much better than I expected. Definitely worth watching if you like smart and funny spy films. Beautifully filmed and great soundtrack on top of it all.
