Weird mix of intelligent, classy film-making and Eddie Murphy style "funny" overacting and wanna be zany. The humour is formulaic (something like a poor mans Wes Anderson style) and rarely fits well with the rest of this film. I'd still see it but lower your expectations and wait till it costs a lot less. It's like they wanted to make a serious unforgettable epic but just had one guy to write them some gags so that it wasn't too serious.

Butterfly Kisses
It's called science fiction for a reason. A most enoyable movie mixed with fact, the plausible and the 'what ifs'. Well researched and written with an insightful script that exudes your emotive responses and have you cheering for the good guy. A movie that leaves you feeling inspired, that if faced with extreme adversity, we can all improvise, adapt and overcome.

It's funny enough, but the moments where we might actually see some real depth in the guy are skipped over in favour of repeated jokes and scenes of NASA in-fighting. It would have felt more solid if he'd missed in his heroic suit-puncturing move at the end.
