About this movie

From legendary director Ridley Scott (Alien, Prometheus) comes a gripping tale of human strength and the will to survive. Damon delivers. But it's not because he calls himself a space pirate and generally takes his predicament by its lighter sides, that "The Martian" should have been voted in the "comedy" category. I would even venture that this approach actually took away large chunks of the suspense one would have expected from the plot. A lot of thought, it seems, went into making sure the drama was not too dramatic, and as a result not even once did I find myself sitting at the edge of my seat. It's a feel-good adventure, with most of the efforts apparently spent in making sure the science - and the choice of technical words - was right.

This is definitely a film (space, science fiction) that I usually shy away from, but Matt Damon... well I just had to see it. He made an imaginary story believable, and even made me laugh. I don't think the film needs 100 words or more to commend it. It was well done and deservs at least a one-time see! Enjoy.
