I found it nostalgic. I am glad that I didn't have expectations going in, because rarely are expectations met. They kept the look of the non-matrix world and the technology accurate to the other movies which I thought was important. The continuing storyline was easily transitioned, but it does have a different feel from the originals - which is to be expected because it's been 20 years since the first one came out. We should enjoy it for what it is, not judge it with our expectations.

Resurrections takes itself far less seriously than its predecessors and that's exactly what was needed with this one. It feels fresh while being totally packed with nostalgic references to the trilogy, all the way to the closing credits. It might be complicated and too long, and the humour is cringey at times, but it's still shockingly breezy for a Matrix movie and the action is almost up there with the original's. And it's possibly the most 'meta' movie ever - I feel irony in even reviewing it!

SPOILERS!! as a previous fan of the matrix movies, i was obviously quite excited for this new movie in the franchise. i know many people have agreed that it's definitely a let down (compared to the previous movies), and i have to agree. i did love the idea of incorporating new characters into the film, and the overall premise and plot was good. i just felt like they should've executed these ideas differently. it was nice to see that they were continuing the love story of trinity & neo, but i felt as if the other movies weren't really focused too much on this factor, and including it in this one seemed a bit out of the blue. the action scenes were nice and all, but i felt like i wasn't really captivated. overall it's an okay movie but should've been excecuted differently.
