While this movie was completely unnecessary, I am very glad it exists and as a fan of the original trilogy, all three movies, this was a real treat to revisit the Matrix in the cinema. Some characters were a little confusing, the new Morpheus for one but I was really glad to see so many characters from the original trilogy return and provide some answers to "what happened after". I get why so many people hated it. Actors have aged, some characters have changed faces, the action isn't quite the same and it doesn't really set up a new trilogy or anything of the sort but it feels like an appropriate bookend to an iconic franchise and I loved it.

Utter rubbish. Excessively 'woke' even down to re-record rage against the machine oh dear the irony. Just rubbish. Poorly directed badly acted except for Keanu. Poor script. Nothing to get remotely into. If I had been at the cinema I would have left. I know to avoid Lana's films from now on. If you have ever watch any of the original films do NOT watch this it will put you off watching the others again. Many don't like 2 and 3 but at least you can tolerate.

I watched (the first) The Matrix on its cinema release night over 20 years ago and it was possibly the most incredible cinema experience ever ... which makes watching Resurrections all the more gut wrenchingly painful. This rotten mess of a movie is a filthy stain upon the once brilliant legacy of The Matrix. Poorly written and poorly executed, Resurrections is a turgid pyre of shame and disappointment upon which Lana Wachowski has sacrificed any credibility she once had. Just terrible.
