A deep-sea submersible filled with an international research crew lies disabled at the bottom of the Pacific after having been attacked by a massive shark previously thought to be extinct. With time running out, expert deep sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is recruited by a visionary Chinese oceanographer (Winston Chao) to save the crew—and the ocean itself—from this unstoppable threat: a pre-historic 75-foot-long shark known as the Megalodon. i read the book (Meg) years ago, enjoyed it and then the sequel (The Trench - wow 10 years ago now!) i was quite excited to hear of a movie version, then heard Jason Statham was in the lead, so my hopes sank a bit! The film is not bad and JS's performance is the usual JS performance. An enjoyable, action packed watch

I'm a huge fan of the novels, but Hollywood again watered-down an adults novel for the family-friendly audience like they did with World War Z. Still, entertaining in it's own right, but I would still love to see a proper adaption of these wonderful novels. And why so expensive to buy? It's cheaper to buy on bluray!

I liked this film it has some great fun action scenes with Jason stathom and is quite a fun movie I quite like the scene where the shark tries to get through the window of the sea centre. although it is a dumb movie. The meg was not as scary as he should have been. and a dog survives when the shark clearly ate him and swollowed him but still a fun movie
