Über diesen Film

Tom Cruise stars in this spectacular version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy. Thought safely entombed deep beneath the desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day. Her malevolence has grown over millennia and with it come terrors that defy human comprehension. From the sands of the Middle East through modern day London, The Mummy balances wonder, thrills, and imagination.

Not entirely sure why some many people dislike it, but I actually think the mummy is quite a reasonable movie. Absolutely you can see the company is trying to create a bigger universe with other classical monster, and to be honest, it will be a shame if they stop due to the negative review of this movie. The movie started with a quick explanation of the mummy, how she got there and why she's supposed to be the "bad" guy. Tom Cruise's character accidentally discover the mummy. The movie then quickly went through a whole series of events that lead to the mummy and Tom Cruise in a face off. The final confrontation was a bit anti-climax and most people would have guessed the ending, still, I think it deserves more credit that it currently received. So if you just want a bit of action, and don't think too hard about the story, you may actually enjoy it.

Can't give it 5 stars because Russel Crowe character felt unessesary and Tom Cruise's performance was Meh the first half an hour was dumb fun. Had a pulpy fan fiction vibe i was having it. How it ends was solid but some bits felt rocky. But The Mummy doesn't deserve a 15 percent on Rotten Tomatoes should have got a 53 percent. I give the Mummy (2017) a B-

The intriguing - and ironic - ending is the best part of it. Other than that, this Lovecraftian concept of evil lurking everywhere, from anient civilisations to foreign cultures to space, is getting a bit stale, and so do the zombie FX. Not to mention the idea that evil can be cured by ijecting the 'patient' with a drug: you wish.
