Ethan (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), Isaac (Seth Rogen) and Chris (Anthony Mackie) have been friends since childhood, and for a decade, their yearly Christmas Eve reunion has been an annual night of debauchery and hilarity. Now that they’re entering adulthood, the tradition is coming to an end, and to make it as memorable as possible, they set out to find the Nutcracka Ball – the Holy Grail of Christmas parties.

I enjoyed Jonathan Levine's other film 50/50, which also stared Seth Rogan and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The Night Before, however, felt flat by comparison. The story is a mess. Even though it's well set up, the middle of the film slows to a halt with scenes that carry it nowhere. But I didn't watch this film to see an epic story. I watched it for some signature Seth Rogan gross-out laughs. Some of which I got, but they were few and far between. I tried hard to like it but I found myself wanting to turn it off.

This movie was so pathetically bad that we had to turn it off after about 30 minutes. Comedies are supposed to be funny... and this simply wasn't. Not to mention the language and the drug use which can be used to good effect in other movies but simply make this movie "ugly". The best bits are in the trailer and quite honestly, the trailer isn't all that impressive anyway. We turned it off and watched the more family-friendly "Krampus" instead.

This is a hilarious movie. Ignore the other reviews from people clearly with broken senses of humour. I watch this every Christmas as a new tradition. Jeffery Epstein didn’t kill himself.
