We saw this when I was pretty young, but it was all about overcoming obstacles in your life and that life is not limited because of a physical handicap. We learned this growing up cause my dad had MS. So handicaps were always prevalent . Jill Kinmont, who the movie is about, should be remembered as a fighter, a true champion to the Olympic Games. She was a hero in our house, I hope that time will recognise her as such.

I actually saw this movie when it first came out in the mid 70's. I have always remembered it when ever things got hard for me...Id say to myself "how can I stop trying to move forward when I have full use of my arms n legs compared to someone who has concurred her obstacles of the heart n physical limitations n is a sucessful well loved teacher in a wheelchair." I also spent a couple of my summer vacations in Bishop CA. with my aunt n uncle.

This has always been one of my favorite movies. I can watch it every day.. Jill kinmont passed away not too long ago. She lived in Bishop most of her life. What an inspiration she was! Belinda Carslile also played a good supporting role. And I have to give kudos to Dabney Coleman as the coach and especially Beau Bridges. As Mad Dog Buick..it's a good movie to keep in your library.
