About this movie

As teenagers, kung fu disciples Danny (Alain Uy), Hing (Ron Yuan) and Jim (Mykel Shannon Jenkins) were inseparable. Fast forward 25 years, and each has grown into a washed-up middle-aged man seemingly one kick away from pulling a hamstring-and not at all preoccupied with thoughts of martial arts or childhood best friends. But when their old master is murdered, the trio reunites, soon learning that avenging their sifu will require conquering old grudges (and a dangerous hitman still armed with ample knee cartilage) if they are to honorably defend his legacy.

It wasn't that bad. I liked it as it brought back memories of my days at the dojo with my classmates and the training that we had. It was as skilled but it brought back memories of the guys. The fighting skill itself was pretty good and show some nice technique. As for the fight against the young guys and the old rival, it was hilarious as I imagine it would feel that way should an old timer go up against someone younger and more skilled. It was a fine combination of old school comedy and new. I also loved the end scene of the waiter and he volunteering to be a member and what they were saying, as if people had forgotten, he really was in the Karate Kid II movie as the Uncle's pupil/nephew.

It was missing Master Ken's groin strikes. This was the #1 reason I looked forward to this film. It had none and I got bored as Hell.

Utterly G rated, fascinating, and fun. After you see this, you will wish it had been longer. You will hope for a sequel or spinoff series. And you will read all you can about the actors and production. It's that interesting!
