Acerca de esta película

In this version of Christ's crucifixion, based on the New Testament, Judas expedites the downfall of Jesus (Jim Caviezel) by handing him over to the Roman Empire's handpicked officials. To the horror of his mother, Mary (Maia Morgenstern), Magdalen (Monica Bellucci), whom he saved from damnation, and his disciples, Jesus is condemned to death. He is tortured as he drags a crucifix to nearby Calvary, where he is nailed to the cross. He dies, but not before a last act of grace.

Not very compelling. Seems like a humongous costly appeal to emotion doing little else but reenforce beliefs already held. Does nothing to sway the unconvinced. Basically, amounts to little more than religious torture porn. Don't like seeing people in pain or being mistreated, this is definitely a pass. At least god would have only been inconvenienced a few days, watching this had me upset for weeks after when I was a kid. Would have given a 1/5 if it weren't for the camera and post work.

For the inconsiderate fool who wrote that it was torture porn and nothing but a movie to appeal to the emotions. Actually, that is what movies are for plus stories. Honestly, it a testament to remember why Jesus died for us. And for it to be a violent as it was , I am pretty sure it was worse in that time frame. I cannot even begin to fathom how one man can take on all the sins of the world and love us despite them all.

It captures the reality of the Passion and Death of Our Lord: brutal and undeserved. Inhuman and barbaric. The love of Our Lord is accentuated through His Agony that he bore for us. Even as the Jews cried for his murder, Our Lord loved each of them in spite of it. Mel Gibson is a master of film and I don't believe anyone else in film has captured the Passion so accurately.
