If you're pre-diabetic or diabetic and need a lifestyle change that will get you healthy and keep you that way, you should watch this documentary. It is a compelling argument for the paleo diet, which uses interviews from the leading nutritionists that endorse it and balanced with science and solid arguments that can be backed up with independent research. If you're interested, TRY IT YOURSELF. Watching this documentary changed my life a few years ago and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to live healthier and happier lives. I can personally attest to this diet (along with regular exercise, of course) reversing my pre-diabetic diagnosis, giving me more energy, allowing me better, restful sleep, and, not to mention, losing weight. I was even able to maintain my health by sticking to the diet when I couldn't exercise regularly. Watch it, be skeptical, ask questions and find the answers, and if you're satisfied, GIVE IT A TRY. It can't be fad when people have done it for millions of years.

Long story short the documentary is advocating the paleo diet. Repeats the same argument throughout the documentary; eat an abundance of meat because that's what prehistoric man did. The poor quality of the documentary makes me doubt the validity of the claim it makes. Little scientific evidence to support the claim is offered leaving me feeling as though I had just spent $4.00 to be indoctrinated in the latest fad diet. Still the argument isn't completely uneducated and after adding a little supplementary information on the quality of meat and the negative side effects of too much meat in the diet this could be considered a fairly informative documentary. One last remark on the documentary: It pretty much undermined the importance of exercise in blatant terms. All said the worst part of watching it was its extreme poor quality. First impressions are usually right and I knew I made a mistake in renting this in the first few minutes of watching it.

It's really funny how people will try to talk down or completely miss the main points presented by this film. Scientific evidence? We ARE the evidence! Humans evolved over 2 millions years eating what? No, it wasn't just meat - watch this and learn - at the *pinnacle* of human evolution we were eating all kinds of things. Poor quality documentary? It was obviously produced by one man on a mission instead of a big corporation with an agenda. But if you need truth to be presented in perfect form before you can believe it, keep searching. ---- Questions I found that were not addressed were (1) not everyone thrives on the same diet and the film didn't mention this, and (2) the way animals are raised and meats are processed these days introduces many unhealthy things. This is not a argument against the proposed diet, it simply means that our best options have been taken away from us and we have to work harder to get the nutrition we need. It would have been nice if this was acknowledged.
