Based on the best-selling novel by Noah Gordon, THE PHYSICIAN tells the story of Rob Cole (Tom Payne), a boy who is left a penniless orphan in an 11th-century English mining town when his mother dies of a mysterious illness. Vowing to become a physician and vanquish Death itself, he travels to Isfahan in Persia to study medicine under the great Ibn Sina (Ben Kingsley). Good Story and events, but wrong images, senery costumes etc. This happened in Persia not Arabia. Even though Islam had invaded Persia it never managed to assimilate the Persians even to today. The same mistake Hollywood has been making all along in movies like Alaideen, one thousand nights of Sharzad. Sindbad, and many more.

Amazing movie based on the true story of Avicenna (Ibn Sina) from Persia. Great work from Philipp Stölzl.

Poor story line. Terrible sound quality.
